I am an accomplished researcher delivering research as independent research consultant, or in my capacity as Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Aberdeen. My expertise lies in the role of new technologies in rural contexts and developing countries, with an emphasis on social, economic and educational impacts for communities. I am interested in how we can embrace the transformational potential of new technologies to empower communities in a number of diverse settings.
I perform a number of additional roles – I sit on the editorial board at Local Economy, and on the Board of Directors at Scottish Sculpture Workshop. I have successfully led a number of knowledge exchange activities and brought together new networks. I work collaboratively with organisations to deliver high quality research which seeks to affect positive change and evidence impact.
